Paper Bag #10
The Opening Letter I am still typing on my IBM selectric. And still complaining about money. Also we are way behind schedule at this point.

Itinerary #1

This is cool. We are starting to get organized and I am starting to write stuff down. This is how we are able to operate so efficiently today. Notice - no rehearsal. Monday is set up day. We have begun our policy of sound checking drums early, another venerated Bag tradition. I am quite amused by the 4am entry "Party location unknown (but not at my house this year)" I wonder where we went! If you know email me and tell me

Itinerary #2

Here is a more detailed itinerary for the last few days. Notice that I have begun delegating. Frog and I have the dirty job. We used to go to a high school in Nassau County and pick up 4'x8' stage risers and those choral risers for the guitars and basses. They are really heavy and don't fit in the truck very well. One time we borrowed a pick-up and as we turned onto Jericho Turnpike the tailgate opened and the risers all fell into the road. Oh boy! Also notice that the party location is still a secret.

Paper Bag #10
Working Songlist

For the first time we have a "not-in-order" songlist, complete with keys and indications as to who is needed. We actually did 23 songs (as listed above). In the past, I never let anyone know what songs we would be doing so that the musicians would be just as surprised as the audience. Of course this made for many interesting and awkward moments on stage. It is orgizational skills like this that led Bag #10 to be labeled "The Dream Season"

The Ticket

Paper Bag #10 ~
The Ticket
We now have a larger graphic and the ticket is long. Printed numbers appear at both ends (I used to hand number the tickets). I still did every letter individually with a letter transfer sheet

Paper Bag #10 ~ The Shirt

Well, one last time, look at that redrawn screw-eyes head. This time I got a haircut. Now we have a 2 button softball shirt which would stay in bag style for the next 3 bags. Roll your mouse over the image and check out the cool sleeve for the 10 year veterans.

Here is more of my graphic artistry. Letter transfers, scraps pasted from other documents. Parts of Doug Baldwin's work. In the gatefold below you can see the lines from the graph paper that I used in a futile attempt to write in straight lines. Doug taught me how to use a ruler and use all upper case letters but I am challenged. We have also begun the Bag tradition of recognizing outstanding Bag service with the Frank Hendricks Memorial Award.

Peggy Kelly had asked to have "Bassmaster" put on the back of her shirt. I seem to have misunderstood because I had "Bathmaster" put there. If you know Peggy, you will understand why "Bathmaster" is so appropriate. We also seem to have designated Ms. Peggy Kelly as comeback player of the year (with special mention to previous winners Dave Morris and Dave Noyes). It is interesting to mention that all 3 have played in the same band (Chaser) and that between them they have more comebacks than Don Rickles.
