In the door and turn right. When I visited room 101 during the summer before my first year, Ms. Vasco told me that in the morning, the kids leave their cases on the floor and they stay there all day. Nope.
I made a mechanical drawing (just like I learned in 7th grade shop with Mr. Ross) and Paul the custodian made the custom brown wooden shelves. I made the shelves different heights, saxes on the bottom, flutes in the narrow shelf, clarinets and trombones on the top.
On the left is a set of grey metal shelves where the trumpets lived during the day. This is one of many items I scrounged from the basement, with the help of Custodian Paul. As we move throughout the band room |
you will see much upcycled stuff, much of it reclaimed from the discard pile. Teachers gotta be resourseful.
The red Target shopping cart was in the room the day I moved in. Was still there when I left. You can see a few mic stands in the bottom. I used to load this sucker up with mics & cables & speakers & stands to go to the gym for concerts.
Up above is a collage that was given to former AP Ms. Potorski, apparently because she was hot for John Travolta. When she retired, she regifted it to me and up on the wall it went. Also notice the "empty cardboard box storage." Band teachers always need boxes.
