The Opening Letter

Well, we did it. We broke even. That was the big news. No sound on the movie from 1984 is the bad news. This baby was typed on my IBM selectric typewriter. The one that you could change the ball to have different type fonts. Such was the state of technology in 1985.

Reading this now makes me laugh. I have been complaining about the same things for more than 20 years now.

The Ticket

Paper Bag #8 ~ The Ticket

No more hand-lettering for me. I used to go to the Caboose on Southdown Rd and get sheets of letter transfers. I would line up the "P" then rub over it with a pencil the line up the"A" etc. It took awhile, but it was better than my lettering.

Paper Bag #8 ~ The Shirt

These are baseball undershirts with 3/4 sleeves. Very comfortable. The names and numbers were still done by hand but for the first time we used a screen on the front. Look carefully at the screw-eyes head. I had created a template using the logo and letter transfers. Whoever made this screen redrew the face. Close, but no cigar.

The Flyer

My old pal Doug is at it again. Of interest is that the ticket price on the flyer is wrong. I guess I didn't tell Doug that I had raised the admission price. there are also some cool, typical Doug stuff in the small writing. I have included a large image so you can view it more closely.
