Mike Guido
bass guitar
clarinet, sax, flute
vocals
Mike's microphone stand is usually stage left, next to John. That is where he stands when he plays woodwinds. When playing bass he usually stands behind the front line, facing the drums. One of his favorite pastimes is matching the bass line of the song to the rhythm being played on the bass drum by Vinny's right foot. Mike began sitting in with Small Talk at the Silver Dollar during the late 70's. He was the sound engineer for Small Talk's first show with bass and drums. He was in the opening act for both shows at My Father's Place. When finally offered a position in the band he jumped at it. Being the bass player in the Jim Small Band is his life's work. Mike doesn't tell as many jokes as the rest of the guys because, as the oldest member, he can't remember any.
