Ah! High School Band. As noted above, Mr. George Clinton was my teacher from the first lesson I took in 1959 through my Junior year in high school. He was replaced by Mr. Burton Sachs (pictured at right). I, um, didn't get along very well with Mr. Sachs (the students referred to him as "Burt"). I wasn't the only one who didn't like Mr. Sachs, as these next pages will attest. Here you see the first page of the Band section from the yearbook. Run your mouse over the image, then click. The image is grainy because the yearbook is printed on fabric like paper instead of smooth stock but the digit in question is unmistakeable. By the way, that is my brother Bobby, attorney to the Paper Bag and doorman extroadinaire in the front row. |
