Mike has over 40 years experience as a professional musician. For 20 of those years, he was fortunate enough to earn his living by playing in a rock band. He has performed in rock bands, swing bands, symphony orchestras, club date bands, jazz groups, pit bands, concert bands, garage bands, bar bands, basement bands, pick-up bands, He owned and operated a recording studio and a PA rental business. Mike also has extensive experience in sound and lighting design and operation and spends way too much time with his Mac computers.
For over 30 years Mike has played bass guitar & woodwinds and sang with the Jim Small Band. He enjoyed 15 playing woodwinds with the Stanton Anderson Band. Both bands have been recognized by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame as "Legends of Long Island Rock" and were presented awards at a concert at Brookhaven Amphitheatre in September 2008. Mike is the founder and leader of the Paper Bag Band, the world's longest running 70 piece rock band.
Mike has a BA in Music Education from Long Island University and graduated with a GPA of 4.0. He earned an MS in Music Education from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at Queens College.
