PAPER BAG 1985 - THE BIG ONE May 1, 1985 Dear Bagger, (or Baggette) It's that time again so let's get right down to the business at hand. This big news about last year's bag is this: "WE BROKE EVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (dub in suitable fanfare music here) The reason we did is because of you and your efforts in getting the ticket money to me as early as possible. Your cooperation this year is again the key to success or dismal failure. Now- about the MOVIE. I know alot of you are disappointed about my failure to get it together this year. The reason for that is the original tapes came out with virtually no soundtrack on them. "Why?" you ask Well that's because we didn't spend money for the right equipment because we didn't have the money. This year one of my goals is to have a professional looking video tape for you all to see, hear and enjoy. As you can tell by looking at the enclosed tickets, the price went up. Two reasons 1- Inflation - everything I have to pay out for (shirts, lighting, etc.) costs more this year. 2- This year we are renting state of the art video gear in hope of getting a good movie. Again this year I expect everyone to give me $30 up front and you have tickets to sell to make it back. Advance ticket sales is what allows me to pay for the stuff that makes it fun for all of us. Out of 80 or so people last year only 6 didn't live up to their obligation and give up their precious $30. (I know who you six are) On the other hand many of you sold extra tickets.
